FREE PROFESSIONALLY MADE FACE SHIELDS FOR HEALTHCARE WORKERS AND FIRST RESPONDERS
Helping our 1st responders is so important. Unfortunately they are exposed due to a call of protective gear. This is at hospitals, ambulance corps, police and fire departments in our own area and around the US.
There are 2 seperate initiatives underway led within the Fair Lawn Jewish community.
- Fair Lawn Face Shields (bmoerdler.com/face-shields) was created by our own Bernard Moerdler, his friends in conjunction with Congregation Darchei Noam. They are 3D printing, laser cutting, assembling and sanitizing incredibly high quality reusable full face shields. They have already supplied at no cost to the Fair Lawn Volunteer Ambulance Corp, the Fair Lawn Rescue Squad, the emergency rooms in hospitals in NYC and Maine. Requests are coming in faster than they can manufacturer because this is a real health issue for those on the front lines.
- Isaac Wertman is running a self-funding project to supply disposable face masks to 1st responders and already donated 1,300 masks to the Fair Lawn Police Department, the Volunteer Ambulance Corp and 2 hospitals. It is a win-win project as consumers buy their own face masks thru Isaac and all the profits are being used to donate masks (you buy 5 and they donate one).
Both of these projects are not-for-profit and helping those that are helping us all stay safe. If you can help with either project please reach to Isaac at 201-759-4774 or Bernie via his website at bmoerdler.com/face-shields.
