Congregation Darchei Noam has started a Charity Fund whose primary
purpose is to assist needy individuals in our local community.
Donations to the Charity Fund are dedicated exclusively for the Fund
and are not used for any other purpose.
On Purim day, our
members and friends donated $1,250 for Matanot Le'evyonim (gifts to
those in less fortunate circumstances). The money raised was
distributed on Purim Day to help the recipients make their festive
Purim meal and to start their Passover food shopping.
Most
recently, Darchei Noam arranged for Mechirat Chametz (pre-Passover sale
of Chametz) and asked people to consider making a donation to our
Charity Fund at that time. Through the continued generosity of our
members and friends, almost $2,100 was raised for Maot Chitim to help
individuals and families with their Passover needs.
Questions about the Charity Fund and tax-deductible contributions can be directed to Nathan Bednarsh.
